Application: The level of GFAP as a specific biomarker of neuroAIDS among Chinese patients

Applicant: Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong
Objectives: The objectives of this programme are:-
  1. to establish an easy, sensitive and cost-effective ELISA assay to evaluate the specificity of the CSF GFAP as a HIV/neuroAIDS biomarker;
  2. to evaluate neurologic disorders of the cohort of HIV+ and HAART naive individuals; and
  3. to validate GFAP as a biomarker of neuroAIDS for Chinese patients.
